Bahrain | The General Council for Islamic Banks and Financial Institutions
(CIBAFI), in collaboration with the University of Bahrain, successfully
organised its second public lecture, titled "Navigating the Future: The
Role of AI and Fintech in Islamic Finance." The event attracted over 100
participants, reflecting the growing interest in the transformative potential
of technology within the Islamic finance sector.
The lecture was presented by Dr Muhammad Bilal, Project
Manager at CIBAFI and Mr
Rachid Ettaai, Business Development Manager at CIBAFI. The speakers
explored how Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Fintech are reshaping the
financial industry, introducing innovative opportunities and addressing
significant challenges for Islamic banks.
The discussion highlighted how AI and Fintech enhance efficiency,
promote financial inclusion, and drive innovation in Islamic finance, while
addressing critical issues such as cybersecurity, data privacy, and Shariah
compliance. The speakers underscored the importance of adopting these
technologies responsibly to ensure that Islamic banks and financial
institutions remain resilient, ethical, and sustainable in an ever-evolving
financial landscape.
This lecture forms part of CIBAFI’s ongoing efforts to strengthen
collaboration between academia and the Islamic finance industry. CIBAFI and the
University of Bahrain remain committed to equipping future Islamic finance
professionals with the skills and knowledge needed to navigate the sector’s
dynamic future.
